How to buy a smart TV in Kenya without going to Luthuli Avenue

In the eighties, the nineties and last decade, we all knew that if you wanted to buy affordable electronics, Luthuli Avenue in Nairobi would be your best bet for good prices and wide variety.

Whereas Luthuli vendors had the advantage now, they are quickly losing that to other channels, both in terms of affordable pricing and wide product range. And most importantly, Luthuli has always had an issue with fake products. While most of the products are original, many fake products have ben detected in Luthuli. In this article, we analyze the new channels that are coming up to challenge Luthuli avenues dominance in the TV and electronics market in Kenya.

Electronics brand shops

After covid pandemic, many electronics brands have opened their own physical stores within town where clients can walk in and purchase their brands. The advantage of this, is that customers are sure that they are buying genuine brand products. But there is the disadvantage of lack of choice in terms of variety. Some of the TV brands that have opened branded shops are Hisense, which has an online store only, LG Electronics which has showrooms in Nairobi, Kisumu and Nanyuki and also a online store, Hotpoint which has showrooms in most major towns in Kenya, as well as an online store. Samsung which has a brand shop in Westlands, Nairobi.
